Comfortable Day

Today was a great day because my husband stayed home today due to flooding in the area. I took one of my kids to school and he took the others and one stayed home, that sounds like the ten little piggy song doesnt it?! lol
He met up with me at the school while I was waiting for our daughter to finish her class and I showed him around the school. We went to her class and met a couple of her class mates. I was impressed with one young man I thought was a senior but ended up only being sophmore. I was surprised because he was so confidently sociable for someone his age and carried on a great conversation along with eye contact! He knows exactly what he is doing with his life! How does that work? How is it that people know (at such a young age) how they want their life to go and some take up until their 30's and 40's to figure it out and some really never do? Well I'm impressed.
After that my daughter and I went to a nearby store and bought coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts. My husband met us there and we left the cars there and walked to a nearby park in the rain, he had camera in hand to take pictures of all the flooding from the river. I am greatful we live up high and our house is splitlevel:-) I watched people stand outside their house with water just feet away. It made it funny when my husband said, if that were him he would put out a lawn chair and sit there with a fishing pole just to make people wonder-hmmmmm! We then went exploring a few other places and then went home. Greeted by the best dog ( female, red healer) ever (I'm sure everyone thinks that way about their animals), it makes coming home a much better experience than walking thru the door wondering what hasn't gotten done or what do I have to do now! I have always been a cat lover but that has now changed. Dogs give you the kind of attention that just makes you feel like someone special. Time goes by once the clock hits noonish and before you know it, its dinner time. I put a stuffed turkey in the oven by 2pm. We had a family study with the kids about 5 after everyone was home and home work was done. It was great. I love our family studies because it really promotes family communication and I love getting into conversations with my kids and laughing and talking about memories etc. We studied about being balanced in doing fun things like sports, movies, dancing etc. Our whole goal with the kids is teaching balance and Gods view on matters.
We all had a good dinner together, the works-turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, greenbean cassarole, and cranberry sauce. The kids are really good about telling me how good it is and thank you-it really makes me feel good that they appreciate me and what I do for them:-) I'm stuffed!!!
No dessert!! lol
Another daughter of mine brought home a book from school about Florida. My husand wants to move there. He hates the weather in the Northwest. I have to say even though I have been here my whole life I too am ready for a change. I didn't want to move to Florida, Colorado was my choice but I am going to be open to the idea as long as I have a choice to leave after a year if I dont like it. It seems that whenever I mention it to anyone, randomly , I get negative responses. We started looking at houses there and I am starting to feel a little excited about it. I need sunshine. It looks cheerfully sunny:-P It rained all day today and is a cold rain I am tired of. I like to be outside and active and now that I am reaching my mid 40's it is a must!!
I also am looking into Virginia. I do like the seasons and am use to mountains.
I can tell this blogging can be fun. This is a first thanks to my eldest daughter, its her fault. She is corrupting me! lol I need to get up by 6am and here I am. My husband thinks its funny, I'm not sure yet. I guess its a fun thing to do while your waiting for your other half to meet you in bed!!
