Basking in Blessings

I am baking right now:-) Vanilla cake and Chocolate cake with the filling of thin layer of white chocolate covered with seedless raspberry jam and frosted with a half and half mixture of butter cream and cream cheese frosting. I am doing samples for a couple we know that is getting married next weekend and want me to make their wedding cake! I haven't decorated in some time but am very excited to awaken this talent again. I really do love the challenge and the pressure! Maybe this is a start to a new business! I know the whole family would love to do something like that. I can see it now- Looney Lewis Cakes!!! NOT.
Accomplished a bit today-cleaned out vehicle, vacuum, windows, upholstery and then went into garage and cleaned/organized, my side, gardening, pet supplies, etc. and also cleaned inside house, vacuum, bedroom and bathrooms, and everyone helped! Made chicken and dumplings for dinner, hubby was happy:-)
I got my first anniversary gift today from my beautiful 3rd daughter. What a surprise! I was sitting at the table and she came and sat down a gift wrapped box in front of me and said she wanted to give it to me early so I could use it- it was a checkered board cake pan set! What a sweet heart;-} I cant wait to use it. She and her brother want me to show them how to make a cake with it so they can do it for our anniversary.
Its funny how days go along. I was somewhat grouchy today and then something sweet happens and turns it all around. Children are really a gift. I have to say with all the help I got today around the house from everyone and my early gift and then seeing my son ride his dirt bike all by himself today for the first time (showing off-brought tears to my eyes!) was really ,really a great day:-) I couldn't ask for better children. This is what it feels to be blessed.
